Steel %26 Leather Original Shields Purse Watch 1960 with Gold Filled Chain - Worldwide Shipping!!
This is a lovely Shields Fifth Avenue steel and leather travel/purse watch made in Germany in 1960. The watch is wound by the top winder. The purse watch is complete with a gold-filled chain.
DIAL: The champagne coloured dial has golden baton markers with a golden twelve. The dial has golden hands and is signed: "SHIELDS, Fifth Avenue, Unbreakable Mainspring, France".
MOVEMENT: The anchor lever movement has 17 jewels and is in great working condition; however, we cannot guarantee accuracy for an antique pocket watch.
CASE: The Omega purse / travelling watch lies in a steel and leather case. The bottom of the case is signed: "US Patent. 2640668 US PAT.2719402, Made in Germany".

Shields Fifth Avenue was a men's jewellery outlet. They were located here from the late 1940s until 1957/58. At that time, they moved uptown to 401 5th Ave. to the other side of 5th Ave. at 37th St. The business closed in the late 1960s. The name Shields Fifth Avenue, however, continued to be used as a registered trademark by Watchbands Inc. of North Attleboro, Mass.
