You are bidding on an all original gold-filled WALTHAM open face pocket watch, made by Waltham in USA in 1888 and cased by ALD.
DIAL:-
The white enamel has black Roman numerals with outer minute divisions, nice blued hands and a subsidiary sunken second’s dial at the six. Under the dial it is signed: "Patented MAR 1888".
MOVEMENT:-
The high quality, very nicely decorated jewelled anchor movement is signed: "AWW Co, Waltham Mass" and numbered: 7188556. The movement is in great working condition; however, we cannot guarantee accuracy for an antique watch.
CASE:-
The watch lies in a gold filled ALD made case with a smooth finish. The inner side of the moon case is signed: ALD and numbered: 743. The inner side of the cuvette is signed: "Guaranteed To Be Made Of Two Plates of 14 CT gold With Plate Of Composition Between and to Wear 20 Years". and numbered: 743.
A.L.D. stands for Aaron Lufkin Dennison. He was a very famous casemaker and made several types of cases for Rolex.
