Silver Verge German Pocket Watch Circa 1820

You are bidding on a wonderful large silver verge pocket watch which lies in a silver case and comes with a key. The watch is made in 1820 and is in good condition. I assume the watch is made in Austria or Germany.

Dial: The white enamel dial has black handwritten Roman numerals with black outer five minute. The dial has nice blued hands and the key hole at the two. Fairly in good condition and there are hairlines on the dial. The high dome bevelled glass is in excellent condition.

Movement: The rare silver large, verge movement key wound is pierced and has a lovely engraved bridge cock with a cut-out eagle. The movement has a silver disc regulator and has round baluster pillars. All around the movement there are nice engravings. The watch comes with a key and is in working order, however we cannot guarantee accuracy for an antique watch. The movement is signed: "Johan Oafpen a Wall"

Case: This verge pocket watch comes in a nice silver plain open faced case with a smooth finish. The inner side of the case is numbered: 1817. All the hinges clasp and the buttons are strong with the case closing firmly.

Signed: Johan - Made in Germany
