ULTRA RARE BLUE ENAMEL DIAL ANTIQUE GUNMETAL LAPEL BUTTON HOLE WATCH HARD TO FIND SWISS 1880
A late Victorian gunmetal lapel button hole watch made in Switzerland in 1880. The button hole watch has an unusually small blue enamel dial with golden Arabic numerals with outer minute divisions. The dial has nice golden hands. The keyless cylinder movement is in working condition, however we cannot guarantee accuracy for an antique pocket watch. The gunmetal case has a smooth finish and is signed: 'Swiss'.
The time is set in the early technique, by depressing the pin set button on the case band and rotating the winding crown.
A side view of the watch shows the central case extension, with the dial housed atop a stalk, allowing this extended housing to be placed through a jacket lapel button hole, to reveal just the dial and conceal the movement housing behind the lapel, thus giving the illusion of a miniature watch.
Diameter [Case] 30 mm. Diameter [Dial] 13mm
The weight is approx 22.0 grams
