with London Import Hallmark 1915

 

An Antique Victorian Longines – Baume & Co open face pocket watch, with centre seconds, made in Switzerland in 1915 with a London Import hallmark for 1915. The pocket watch is complete with long Victorian chain. These watches were worn by Queen Victoria in her years of reign. She characteristically wore these Fob pocket watches with a long silver chain. These watches with long chains are named after her.

 

Dial: The white enamel dial had black Roman numerals with blued hands. The pocket watch has a centre seconds hand, this is very rare on an antique Victorian pocket watch.

 

Movement: The anchor lever movement has blued screws and 15 jewels. The movement is signed: “15 jewels, Swiss Made, B&Co”. Calibre number: 12.91, Longines and Baume & Co. This pocket watch has just been serviced by my watchmaker and therefore in excellent working condition.

 

Case: The FOB pocket watch lies in a silver open face case with a smooth finish. The inner side of the watch is stamped for silver 925 and hallmarked for London Import 1915 and signed: 3092747, Swiss. Casemakers initials AB.
