You’re bidding on a large exquisite early 18th century silver open faced French pocket watch with a keywind verge movement. This pocket watch has just been cleaned by my watchmaker!

Dial: The white enamel dial has black Arabic numerals, nice steel hands and is signed: 'Dufour à Janville'. The winding hole is at the 1. The pocket watch is protected by an extra high dome glass in perfect condition.

Movement: The original French verge fusee movement has square pillars, a silver disc regulator and a nice engraved cock. The movement is signed: 'Dufour A Janville'. The watch is key wound and set at the front at the one and comes with an old watch key. The movement is in great working condition, however we cannot guarantee accuracy for an antique pocket watch.

Case: The pocket watch is lying in a large 60mm smooth silver case with all hinges closing firmly. The case is numbered: 8089. The inside of the case has the case makers initials: 'GE'.

See Tardy book; page 198: 'DUFOUR'.
