A rare silver full hunter pocket watch without a glass, made in Switzerland in 1820. The dial has no glass on this pocket watch as there was a brief time where watchmakers believed that a full hunter pocket watch does not need a glass because the full hunter case protected the dial. After the 1850’s watchmakers did put on a glass even on full hunter pocket watches.
DIAL: The white enamel dial has black Arabic numerals with outer minute divisions. The dial has golden Breguet hands and a winding hole at the two. The dial has no glass on this pocket watch as there was a brief time where watchmakers believed that a full hunter pocket watch does not need a glass. After the 1850’s watchmakers did put on a glass even on full hunter pocket watches.
MOVEMENT: The verge movement has blued screws and round pillars. The movement is in good working condition; however, we cannot guarantee accuracy for an antique pocket watch.
CASE: The watch lies in a silver case with a smooth finish with an Adel monogram: "FvP".
