Rare Silver Verge Alarm Gent's Pocket Watch Swiss made 1830

You are bidding on a rare silver verge alarm open face pocket watch, made in Geneva, Switzerland in 1830. The pocket watch is complete with its original old key.

DIAL: The white enamel dial has black Arabic numerals with outer minute divisions. The dial has nice blued hands. The dial has an inner centre extra dial for the alarm. The dial has 3 winding holes: the top one is for winding up the movement, the middle one is for the alarm and the bottom one is to change the alarm. To change the time is at the centre. The dial is protected by a bulls-eye glass.

MOVEMENT: The old verge full plate fusee movement has a silver disc regulator, round pillars and a plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel hairspring. Polished steel alarm hammer striking a bell in the back of the case. The movement is in very good working condition, however we cannot guarantee total accuracy for an antique pocket watch.

CASE: The pocket watch lies in a silver case with a smooth finish. The inner side of the case has a nice engraved cuvette with pierced holes on the side which are specially made to allow the sound of the bell to be heard.
