See book by Allen Shenton: "Pocket Watches" page 184, plate 42: Peerless, Stauffer %26 C° was made by International Watch C°. According to the book Swiss Timepiece Makers 1775-1975 by Kathleen H. Pritchard said that the Stauffer "S %26 C°" stamp and crown trademark on pocket watches is an ebauche by International Watch C°. Stauffer en co was made by IWC.
Stauffer, Son %26 Co was established in Switzerland in 1830 and a London branch, Stauffer %26 Co, was opened soon after. They became one of the largest importers of Swiss watches in Britain, also importing watches made by Patek Philippe, Jaeger Le Coultre, IWC, Fontainemelon and Eterna. Charles Nicolet, a Swiss horologist, formed a partnership with them between 1853-1940.
