Silver Old Cylinder James Haughton Pocket Watch London 1824

A silver pocket watch with a high quality old cylinder movement, made in London in 1824. The pocket watch is complete with an original old key. (Old cylinder escapements are not so common, as there are the change periods from the verge to the fusee, one can call them the forgotten watches).

Dial: The white enamel dial has clear black Roman numerals with outer minute divisions. The dial has nice golden hands and a subsidiary seconds dial at the six. The dial is protected by a bulls eye glass in great condition.

Movement: The high quality keywind old cylinder fusee movement has large steel balance, a diamond end stone and bridge regulator. The movement is signed: "James Haughton, London" and numbered: N145. The movement is in great working order, however we cannot guarantee absolute accuracy for an antique pocket watch.

Old cylinder escapements are not so common, as there are the change periods from the verge to the fusee, one can call them the forgotten watches.

Case: The pocket watch lies in a silver case with a smooth finish. The inner side of the case is hallmarked for Silver London 1824. The case and the cuvette are signed with the case makers' initials: "JD" (Joseph Dewin).
