Silver Verge Thomas Hitchins, Painswick Pair Case Pocket Watch London 1822

You are bidding on a silver verge pair case keywind pocket watch made in England, Hallmarked for London 1822. The pocket watch is complete with an old key.

Dial: The white enamel dial has black handwritten Roman numerals with black outer minute divisions. The dial has nice blued hands. There is a hairline crack at the twelve. The dial is protected by a bulls-eye glass in great condition. The centre of the dial is beautifully handpainted of a river scenery.

Movement: The English verge gilt movement has a lovely pierced and engraved cock and silver disc regulator and round pillars. The movement is signed: "Thomas Hitchins, Painswick" and numbered: 2029. The movement is in great working condition, however we cannot guarantee accuracy for an antique pocket watch.

Case: The watch lies in a silver pair case with a smooth finish on both cases. The case is hallmarked for: "London 1822".
